“For everything comes from Him; everything exists by His power and is intended for His glory. To Him be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:36
The old Westminster Catechism says “Man’s chief end is to glorify God (1 Cor 10:31, Rom 11:36) and enjoy Him forever.” (Psalm 73:25-28) Ancient words, but bursting with truth nonetheless.
We find our beginning in God and our continued sustenance for all things in God. Accompanied with all His provision should be the understanding that He has given to us freely so that we might then use His provision to facilitate the declaration of His glory and will through whatever form or path of His choosing.
We were created for His glory to worship and honor Him. The priority of our lives is to exalt Him and tell the world who He is and what He has done. All life originates from Him and is sustained by Him. All glory, acclaim, and recognition is to be directed to Him forever. He is the amazing One, the awesome One, the only true God!
Lord, reset my heart today for Your purposes, for I know all things exist by Your power and for Your glory. You are the one who has given me life and You have done so that I might be liberated from darkness to declare your name and purposes. You have made me and sustain me. I pray use me to honor You as I walk through this day for You. Amen.
“Morning by morning He wakens me and opens my understanding to His will.” Isaiah 50:4
