For as many as receive…

ATD 47The Word

“What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you, for you answer our prayers. All of us must come to you. Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all. What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts. What festivities await us inside your holy Temple.” Psalm 65:1-4

 A Thought

Early within the adventure of my Christian pilgrimage, I met a man who told me he could not measure up to the other Christian men he had met in the church. He said his life was simply too ridden with dysfunction, his situation too complex to repair, and his transgressions too far beyond forgiveness. Without disclosing names or faces, I began to share the backgrounds of some in the church with similar backgrounds. Some who once thought the same as he, but who were now experiencing genuine freedom which comes from forgiveness. Often the enemy attempts to tell us while God might forgive others, we’re too much of mess for Him to forgive us. It is simply not true. God’s love, grace, and salvation is for all who will say yes through the redeeming sacrifice of the Father’s only Son, Jesus Christ.

Repentance and God’s power of grace is the gateway to genuine freedom, the forgiveness of all sin! There is genuine forgiveness which brings inexpressible joy and it is offered equally to all. Peter, an Apostle of Christ said in Acts 10:34,”I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.” Release from the power of sin and death give reason for all who believe to celebrate the love, mercy, power, and glory of God.

 Prayer

Apart from you Lord we have no hope of forgiveness, we are locked away in a place which only You can liberate us from. You are the only way and all must come to You for salvation. There is no sin you cannot forgive. In that place of Your forgiveness is great joy and celebration for all time. Amen.
