It’s all Him!

ATD 87The Word

“Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His ways! For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give Him advice? And who has given Him so much that He needs to pay it back? For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory. All glory to Him forever! Amen.” Romans 11:33-36

I am almost always reminded of my great limitations, lack of ability to accomplish much on my own and certainly lack to accomplish anything of lasting Kingdom value on my own. Instead of these thoughts producing emotions of disappointment, resentment, jealousy, anger, or depression, they instead encourage a spirit of gratefulness, excitement, and peace knowing God’s wonderful adventure is sourced by His unlimited riches, wisdom and knowledge. Not only can we not know all of the Lord’s thoughts, but were there a way to track them, they would never be exhausted and the counting and recording of them would be endless. He is the glorious wonder and we get worship and to be a friend of the King.

The apostle Paul concludes his thought presenting God’s undisputed sovereignty. Nothing exists that is apart from Him, He is in all, overall, and all that is exists, exists by and for Him.

You Lord God are my hope and my salvation. I rest in You this morning as I dwell on the words of this passage. I have nothing without You and can do nothing without You that is life giving. You have shown me mercy, You have shown me the way to life and I submit myself to Your will and unlimited ability to fulfill all You have before me for Your glory. Amen.
