“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalm 100
There is a small flower referred to as the Eastern Spring Beauty, Virginia Beauty, or Fairy Spud by some, but in Arkansas we simply call them Spring Beauties. They’re a small pink flower about a half inch in breadth. Closer examinations will reveal light red stripes running the length of each of its five delicate pedals and all positioned atop a very slim four to five inch stem. In our technologically overdosed culture this tiny beauty is probably overlooked these days for the most part, but for some who anticipate the signals of a seasonal change they are the welcomed arrival of a long awaited friend. They are prelude to the soon unveiling of multiple spring colors, hues, and sweet fragrances.
Each spring reminds me of regeneration, the renewal of life, the sense of passage and the introduction of new beginnings. In some future date known only to God, spring will cease to unfold. He will one day end the current seasonal patterns for this earth He has created for His own good pleasure and will, but for now spring is an annual reminder of His continued faithfulness and goodness. Everything exists for Gods glory and divine enjoyment.
Let us come before Him with gladness and songs of joy, for we are His people and He is our Great Shepherd.
You, Lord, are faithful to all and through all generations. From smallest to greatest all is Yours for your good pleasure. I worship You, Lord, for You have given me life, a new song fills the heart You made new. Holy are You, worthy are You, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
