“But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about Your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for You, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.” Psalm 59:16,17
“Each morning I will sing with joy about Your unfailing love.” I’m drawn to this passage often, but when I really grasp the gravity of what is written I am tempted to think, “Seriously?” What about the mornings I feel defeated or overwhelmed by challenging circumstances for which there seems no easy escape? Then I remember the emphasis is on how God has been the deliverer and protector in past situations with His unfailing love.
In our distress, when we are overwhelmed and want to find a hiding place, He is the hiding place, the refuge, and “the place of safety.” Whatever the cause of distress, provision to endure is found in God’s unfailing love.
Each day You provide resource through Your sufficient grace to meet whatever the challenge. Amen.
