“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.” Psalm 19:1-4
Pre-dawn! I’m outside looking up into a bright and clear moon and starlit morning. The air is crisp and smells unusually fresh. My hands lifted up to the Lord of heaven and earth, quietly praising His name. The sky is crowded with an amazing number of brilliant stars and the moon’s light is revealing the shapes of things in the field and surrounding hillsides even before sun’s first light.
Who but God could imagine and create such beauty? Who but God could make something so wonderful it exceeds the minds ability to catalogue? Certainly no human force could ever have imagined and developed something of undescriptive immensity. Did He first create it in His mind’s eye or did He merely speak and it appeared? There is only one source who could accomplish such magnificence: His name is Yahweh, and He alone is God! Yes, who but God?
Speechless is the word to define the initial moment this morning, Lord, followed by sincere and humble worship. You alone are worthy to receive worship. Amen.
