“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38, 39
During a walk in the woods one spring I came upon two trees at the top of a hill which I think had probably grown side by side from seedlings. Both were now taller, twisted together and almost appeared as one singular tree. It would have been virtually impossible to separate the two and they provide a visual for this passage.
Christ’s great work of grace made provision for an inseparable relationship with Him through the ongoing work of the enabler and divine facilitator, the Holy Spirit. No external force existing can separate what God has brought together. What God has done for and within us will remain impenetrable regardless of the keenest of dark weapons crafted by the enemy.
Lord Jesus my heart explodes with confidence and joy knowing the love between us, because of who You are, is forever inseparable. Thank you! Amen.
