“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you His peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Most people know only a more circumstantial peace. Their level and presence of peace is based more on the positive or negative intensity of a given situation. The determining factor for peace is thus more of an external shaping influence on the internal rather being an internal component acting as the emotional gyroscope. The only source capable of regulating peace with consistency is Christ as He is the Lord of peace. When He abides in us in Spirit and we draw upon the fruit of the Spirit, His peace is present in every situation at all times to calm and steady us during external pressures.
Were it not possible to abide in this peace, Paul would have never presented it to the church as he did in the letter to the Thessalonians.
Cause me, Lord, to realize within me You have placed peace which circumstances cannot rob me. Remind me by your Spirit to draw upon this peace and not be deceived or manipulated into reliance of any external or counterfeited temporal value. You, Lord Jesus, are my peace. Amen.
