“There is no other God—there never has been, and there never will be.” Isaiah 43:10
One very warm afternoon during a mission trip to Kampala, Uganda, I was invited to make an unscheduled visit to a ministry facility helping pregnant unwed teen girls. During the tour I was introduced to a young lady volunteering to minister to the girls living there. She extended her hand to greet me and with a joy filled smile said, “I am Winne!” She then began to share her story. Like the other girls she was once a resident of the facility and recipient of the kindness of the ministry within its walls. Now she was an aid reaching out to help and encourage others.
I asked if we might pray while standing in the courtyard. Winne began to pray, and when she did her joy and spiritual exuberance only increased as her words declared honor, gratefulness, and acknowledgement of the heavenly Father as the one and only God; creator of all life. She was a small framed young lady, but bold in spirit and filled with conviction, sincerity, and the power of God’s transforming life.
I will not forget that moment and the privilege of meeting and hearing a young heart given to the love and will of the Father of all life.
You alone are God and there is no other. You and you alone can save and bring the lifeless to life. May your name be praised! Amen.
