“…my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” Acts 20:24
The word passion is often used in lyrics of songs, poetry, sermons, and even to describe large gatherings. Certainly passion for Christ and his kingdom is the worthiest of goals. What causes one to reach the place where passion for God changes every internal spiritual fiber of our being and overtakes every human desire and goal to embrace the assignment of God?
Is it not the awakening and realization of all we thought was profitable when exposed by the light of Jesus was instead foolish and pathetic? Is it not because he gave us life and eternal riches in exchange for our worthlessness? Is it not his forgiveness for the unforgivable and his grace upon grace?
History is filled with Christian people who were so hungry to know Christ Jesus and share his grace with others all things earthly paled in comparison. May we be found among them.
Because you have forgiven, grace now leads and empowers me to tell others about your wonderful Good News. Nothing is of more value and importance than loving you and completing the assignment you have given. Amen.
