A wide open door

ATD 181The Word

There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.” 1 Corinthians 16:9

Paul gives us a wonderful example of a grateful heart devoted and trusting Christ in all things. From Ephesus Paul concludes his letter to the Christians in Corinth saying God has given him a wide open door of opportunity in the city to proclaim God’s Good News of grace. The Lord led him to the city, there was much opposition and challenge, yet Paul’s writing reflects his spirit of optimism and enthusiasm. He understood the best opportunities always exist within God’s divine plan.

God’s leading may not be the easiest way, but it will always be the best way. Though challenges may arise, still the safe, productive, and purposeful place will always be wherever God leads.

Lead me in your way and in your will, Lord, for your way is perfect and your will is to glorify your name. This is the purpose for our existence, and there is no higher call or privilege. Amen.
