“Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name. And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” Hebrews 13:15, 16
There are many expressions of worship and praise revealed in the Bible. One way our allegiance to Christ is made manifest is by our continual sacrifice of praise. The worship of God is why we were made. It is the one thing we will continue to do as we pass through the threshold of this earth life into eternal life in heaven.
One of the worship forms with which we honor God while earth bound is listed here, “share with those in need.” This is very obviously an acceptable sacrifice of praise the Lord is pleased by, but there is juncture in which this praise form will cease to be available to us. The need portrayed or referred to in this passage will no longer exist in heaven.
You have revealed in your Word, Lord, that doing good and sharing with those in need is one way I might worship you with an acceptable sacrifice of praise. May I be vigilant to take advantage of this worship form as instructed by you. Amen.
