The purpose for all life

ATD 195The Word

“Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!” Psalm 150:6

For those in doubt of God’s existence this is a troublesome passage for they are left purposeless in life if they continue denial. The agnostic simply dismisses biblical phrases as foolish thinking. However, the ending for both is sadly the same.

To the heart passionately in love with the Creator of all things this is an exciting and privileged command. He designed and produced all that breathes to fulfill the highest of achievement when worship to him occurs.

In the final phrase of this song the writer bursts forth with deep emotion in an all-inclusive statement, a grand finale’ if you will. Yes everything that has breath should worship the Lord! Praise the Lord! Here we have a command, an opportunity, and life’s highest purpose and motivation given us as Christians.

Praise you Lord of heaven and earth! You alone are God and your kingdom and dominion remains forever! Holy is your name! Amen.
