“Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world. God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.” Romans 1:8, 9
Paul received encouragement and joy from hearing about the good fruit produced as a result of him sharing the Good News of the Kingdom from place to place. In his letter to the Roman church, he affirmed and commended their faithfulness to the Gospel as it was being talked about throughout the world. He encouraged them, telling the church he prayed for them often.
The last part of this passage is our emphasize this morning. He shares the evidence of his complete devotion to God being found in the continued spreading of the Good News of Christ. Perhaps a rephrase might read, “I serve God with all of my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.” How can we know we really love God? One manifestation is our desire to share with others what he has done for us.
Lord, you have given me new life, hope, and a future. Please Lord may I be found by you sharing the source of my love and my life with others today.
