Father and Daughter Playing Together at the Beach at Sunset

The Word

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14-16

A brief scan of headline news is capable of alarming most anyone cognizant and caring of biblical values. The welfare of the future, at least from the natural vantage point, appears quite volatile as powers lacking integrity continue plotting to undermine those things righteous, fair, truly just, and morally sound.

In these times, feelings of worry and despair grow. The darkness seems advancing to overpower light. Thoughts and temptations are even entertained to abandon the call and mission of the Good News to run and hide in hope of escape. In these days though, is when hope in Christ shines brightest, for in him indeed abides the only hope, the only prospect of overcoming the darkness. Certainly, undoubtedly, absolutely, in Christ we truly overcome!

The church, the family of God, has great opportunity for the advancement of the Gospel as we live and share genuine life-giving Christianity before a culture confused, deceived, betrayed, disillusioned, and hopeless. We are the dispensers of hope, for in Christ the Savior, the Messiah, the Redeemer, the Son of God, hope thrives in abundance!

May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
