God’s miraculous provision

atd-259The Word

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children! Matthew 14:19-21

Thought

There are no shortages of provision when the goal is to accomplish the will; the mission of God. He assigns our mission and will certainly provide whatever needed to accomplish the task.

The disciples were deeply challenged when Jesus told them they needn’t send the people away for food, but that they should feed them. They saw before them an impossible mission, and in their limited means, it was. Jesus though, saw the mission through God’s provision. When the disciples obeyed Jesus and surrendered to him what was available. He took their lack of sufficiency, blessed it, infused the Father’s supernatural characteristics, and the result was sufficiency beyond what they could have imagined. They were astounded and God, not man, was credited and glorified!

God’s mission, exceeds our natural abilities, and requires surrendering what we have for him to bless. Then as we walk by faith in his mission, he steps in with his supernatural intervention, and fulfills the mission. This is his way, his intention, so in the end, we will be astounded, and he will be credited and glorified.

Prayer

I pray for courage and wisely surrender to you and your will and mission as it contains life’s best path and provision. Amen.
