“For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations.”
We are acquainted with time as all things in life are connected to time. Time is measurement for things beginning to ending. The thirty minute office wait for a checkup, a two hour plane flight, a ten hour drive between cities. Four years to complete high school, another four to finish college, and still another three to six for doctoral programs. Living things are measured by time of lifespan. Trees live eighty to one hundred twenty years, flowers bloom a couple weeks, others days, and people average seventy to ninety years.
We know from history of things in ancient times. People and empires of a century ago, centuries ago, and multiple millenniums. Still they are measured, captured and bound by time, between a beginning and an ending.
Then there is God! Yahweh, Elohim, Jehovah, Adonai, and his many other names. He is plural in titles, but singular in his deity. He is not measured by a beginning or ending because he has neither. He is not measured by a term or a period of rule over a nation or nations, for he has ruled over all things measured by time and all things timeless; forever.
All glory, honor, and power are yours forever. Amen.
