“Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.” Psalm 66:16
During a life transition once, I was concerned about future provision. In a prayer one morning over this concern, I suddenly had the impression the Lord was asking, “Where have I not provided for you and your family over the past four decades?” Nowhere! The look back restored right thinking and faith to gratefully step forward.
Life transitions, whether job related, geographical relocation, family challenges, or national and international political changes, can introduce concern and even alarm as to future provision and security. For the believer, a look back at God’s past provision will bring encouragement and trust for his future provision. Remembering God’s past faithfulness introduces hope, especially if we recall and understand the ultimate goal of the Father is eternity in his presence.
Thank you, Lord, for your past and continued provision. Give today the provision needed to walk in your will. Amen.
