“Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.” Galatians 1:4, 5
To vanquish means to overcome in battle and subdue completely. The word is antiquated, but so accurately describes Christ’s victorious battle on our behalf, liberating the destiny of the human soul. Through the story of the cross, Christ’s death, and his resurrection from the grave, deliverance from the power of the evil one is subdued and forever vanquished.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your love and free gift of grace. Thank you for your sacrifice of love. Thank you for the redemptive victory for the heart and souls of all who would repent of their sin and embrace you as Savior and Lord. Thank you for eliminating the strangulation of death from evil and providing life in its fullness forever. Amen.
“but rescue us from the evil one.”
