UnshakableThe Word

“Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.” Hebrews 12:28

Fallen empires throughout the history of civilization felt themselves invincible. Their confidence stemmed from their ability to conquer and intimidate others with the immensity of their military, superior wealth, educational advancement, impressive infrastructures, and sheer determination to dominant anyone perceived inferior.

The Romans, for example, thought their position, power, and influence unstoppable at one point. They conquered countries and territories using keen diplomatic coercion, or simply by overpowering them militarily. Great, powerful, and famous as Rome was though, the empire imploded. Its plight is read in history books, and its ruins are visited by tourists.

The kingdom of God is steadfast, for which its citizens celebrate. The kingdom of God is unchanging and eternal. The kingdom of God is not limited, restricted, or conquerable. No aspect of the kingdom of God can be amended, altered, compelled to adjust its principles or manipulated to the slightest level of compromise. The kingdom of God faithfully keeps promises, effortlessly endures, and repels attack. The kingdom of God is unshakable!

It is with reverence, respect, and honor I give you thanks this morning, Holy Father. You have positioned one once unworthy, but now through Christ, to be a citizen of your eternal, unshakable kingdom. Amen.

“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
