“Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead. He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.” Acts 10:42, 43
For the mocking, doubting, and denying, there is forgiveness. For selfishness, over-indulgence, and pettiness, there is forgiveness. For wrongly judging, condemning, criticizing, and gossip, there is forgiveness. For perversion, theft, deception, and lies, there is forgiveness. For vanity, the blindness of jealousy, and the pathetic insecurity of pride, there is forgiveness. For hate, murder, the lowest of despicable injustices, there is forgiveness. For foolishly choosing the darkness of world above the beauty of God, there is forgiveness.
Jesus has drawn no lines of demarcation, to limit the reach of his forgiveness, for those in search of his powerful grace. He extends mercy, motivated by immeasurable love, toward any and all who will confess and repent. For any and all who will believe in him.
Thank you for the grace which covers the sins separating us from communion with you, holy Lord. Amen.
“and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.”
