Wholly Devoted

The Word

Let all that I am praise the Lord. (Psalm 104:1)

Thought

When Jesus was asked which was the greatest commandment, he responded saying, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” (Mk 12:29-31)

His response revealed the essence of purpose and design for all humanity. Our entire being is to be devoted to a lifestyle of worship which is our expression of love to God. While our salvation through Christ is based solely upon his free gift of grace, our response and manifestation to this great salvation is the display of our complete abandonment to him.

This entire poetical and musical offering is a plea, pledge, and declaration, for the writer’s entire being to be consumed with adoration toward God.

Prayer

Let my day be filled with the sense and knowledge of your presence. Through your facilitating Holy Spirit, may I declare my adoration of you. It is you, Lord God, I praise. Amen.
