I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together. (Psalm 34:1-3)
I was honored to share in a small church in San Salvador. Unfortunately I knew only a handful of words in Spanish, so everything I shared was through the use of an interpreter. Even a couple of songs I was requested to sing required explanation.
Then I sang a very well-known song containing only a few words to exalt the Lord. Instantly everyone in the room began singing the song in English as they were familiar with the song. For me the tone of the gathering changed from one of awkwardness to the corporate honoring and worshiping of God. Together we exalted the name of the Lord.
The fruit of our lips is praise and will one day be the singular unhindered goal of heaven as all nations and tongues praise the Lord at all times.
I praise you Lord, and I am grateful to be a part of the gathering of worshipers you have been assembling since the beginning of man’s creation. Amen.
“Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.”
