I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:18)
Good, godly fathering is a necessity for the healthy mental and emotional development of individuals and for the well-being of entire cultures. Their lack and absence result in multiple ill effects in life. Many will agree it is the primary cause for much of the current mental and emotional behavioral problems within the Western culture.
There is, however, hope. And, it is a great hope indeed! For available to all desirous awaits a genuine intimate relationship with the heavenly Father! He desires to father any willing and needy of the best fatherhood offered. He is always faithful, always perfect in his love toward his children, accurate in his guidance, and his advice is always the best.
If we allow God the Father to father us, through the redemptive work of Christ, the tide would stem from current fathering deficiencies and a culture in decline to a healthy growing life-giving culture.
The heavenly Father’s intentions toward his sons and daughters have always and will always be only the best!
Our Father in heaven, holy is your name. I am grateful for your fathering and desire to honor you as you lead and guide me by your Holy Spirit to follow Jesus Christ and, by your fathering, become like him. Amen.
“Our Father in heaven may your name be kept holy.”
