…stay true to the Lord. (Philippians 4:1)
Our ultimate defense and escape from evil remains faithfully strong as we abide within the redemptive work of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. The writer of Hebrews strongly exhorts us to fasten our gaze on Jesus, the perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), for he will never relinquish to protect what he purchased with his own life.
The spiritual transformation of God’s grace, which occurs upon our repentance and confession of faith in Christ, positions us in the impenetrable place of God’s rescue and refuge. This is, indeed, the Good News of the kingdom of God! There is no power or plan capable of diminishing God’s provision to deliver us from the evil one.
Great are you, Lord, to deliver us from the darkest of schemes. Thank you for your unwavering care, divine protection, and flawless guidance. Amen.
“but rescue us from the evil one.”
