And his name will be the hope of all the world. (Matthew 12:21)
Hopelessness fills the schedules and waiting rooms of psychiatrists and psychologists. Pharmaceutical industries continue to develop and produce increasing quantities of personality altering medications to help the growing number of people struggling with hopelessness and oppression.
Certainly there are some in legitimate and genuine need of these resources, but we’ve minimized and marginalized hope’s singular unfailing source, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
He is the world’s only reliable, lasting, hope. All other sources are limited and unable to maximize God’s intended level of life experience. God is the hope for the failed, the weak, the forgotten, the rejected, the persecuted, and the outcasts. For whoever is hopeless and wherever there is hopelessness, the name of Jesus Christ is the way of hope. He is the hope for the world.
When I am challenged with hopelessness, you remind me of your faithfulness and unlimited ability to infuse your hope into my hopelessness. You cast away the causes of my concerns, fears, and sources of hopelessness. Thank you for your provision of hope. Amen.
