When you forgive this man, I forgive him, too. And when I forgive whatever needs to be forgiven, I do so with Christ’s authority for your benefit, so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes. (2 Corinthians 10, 11)
The evil one is an expert in concealing residues of unforgiveness. Jesus told us to forgive others just as he forgave us. Too often, though, forgiveness is spoken and accompanied with a companion thought or statement: “I forgive them, but I will no longer trust them.”
When cancer is not removed and eliminated from the human body, residue cancer cells will reproduce to attack again. Harboring unforgiveness at any level will cause damage to spiritual heath. The pattern and call of Christ is to forgive others as Jesus forgave us.
Search my heart Holy Spirit and reveal any residue of unforgiveness. Then fill me with your strength and wisdom so that I may forgive as you forgive. Amen.
“and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.”
