The Lord lights up my darkness. (2 Samuel 22:29)
Webster’s dictionary defines a lumen as “a unit of luminous flux equal to the light emitted in a unit solid angle by a uniform point source of one candle intensity.” It is one of the ways we measure light. My morning walk to my Nook in the trees, the place where I read, pray, and study, is only about 30 steps from the house; however, I’ve encountered a lot of different critters, both mammal and reptilian, on this short pre-dawn walk. When I couldn’t utilize moonlight I’ve used a dim pen light with a few lumens until I recently purchased a small, but very bright, 350 lumen flashlight. The difference is incredible.
God’s ability to bring light into the darkest of situations cannot be calculated. His is a blinding bright spiritual light which eliminates the power of darkness. All things poised for attack and purposed to harm are exposed by the glorious light of the Lord.
Come light of God to every dark situation and bring your light. Amen.
“but rescue us from the evil one.”
