The Matter of Honor

The Word

O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. (Isaiah 25:1)

To honor someone is to demonstrate respect, gratefulness, and value toward them. We understand from the Bible, God alone is to be worshiped, and no other person, place, or thing is worthy of worship outside of him. All life, all things, without the slightest exception, exist from him and for him.

One alone is worthy of our highest gratitude. One alone is worthy of our deepest respect. One alone is treasured far beyond humanity’s ability to measure in value. One alone is worthy of our most sincere love and service. One alone is worthy of honor’s paramount position and this one is Yahweh, God in three persons, the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I honor you this morning God! I praise your name! You alone are my God! Amen.

“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
