But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-7)
Because of a love, the depth of which I will never completely understand during my days on this earth, I have been forgiven the debt of my sin. Sin, which had it remained unchanged, unattended, and unreconciled, would have cost me everlasting life, separated from the lover of my soul.
He was moved so deeply by his unfathomable quality and purity of love, that he subjected himself to unwarranted, unimaginable, mental and physical cruelty, detestable unsubstantiated lies, contemptuous, disdainful mockery, and the foulest of scorn from cold hearted, uncaring, indifferent men.
The path to my forgiveness caused the Son of Man to lay bare before the filth and darkness of a corrupt world. He was the Father’s holy and most precious possession, his only Son, Jesus Christ. Because of love, the world’s lowliest of humanity would hear language’s most beautiful word and have opportunity to become recipients of heaven and earth’s most momentous act. Grace!
Speechless, yet a heart filled with light, hope, gratefulness, grace, and life through Christ. Amen.
“forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
