Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. (Psalm 119:133)
The Word of God is reliable. The steps of those who read, listen, obey, and follow it, are guided by perfection, insight, and foresight. They are steps containing strength, endurance, experience, and proven principles. They are steps of purity and righteousness.
These steps are firmly planted in mercy, truth, and compassion. These steps leave imprints of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
These are steps guided by the Word of God, and lead away from the intentions of evil. These are the steps chosen and ordained by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. These are the steps to overcome evil’s attempt to cause stumbling and blunder.
The steps of God, from the Word of God, are definitive and right steps.
Yours are the steps which lead to life. It is your steps I long to closely follow; yours, only yours. Amen.
“but rescue us from the evil one.”
