For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance. (Philippians 1:19)
A letter from Paul to friends revealed his confidence in the power of their prayers. Power which would lead to his deliverance from the prison cell he was unjustly thrown into, and their prayers were not in vain.
Every Christian who has faced challenges has called on faithful friends to pray for them in the midst of those challenges. There is an unmatched confidence which arises in the heart of a believer in Christ, when in a perilous situation they know others, knit in heart by their common love and faith in Christ, are interceding.
I have certainly been the glad and encouraged recipient of these prayers in times past, and will no doubt be in need of them again in the future. They are strong and effective weapon given us by God, to lead and free us.
I am ever grateful, for those in Christ you have placed in and around my life. I am grateful for their friendship, encouragement, and their prayers for me. Thank you for placing us in your family Lord, in the bond of spiritual community. Thank you for hearing our prayers as we pray for one another. Amen.
