He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name. (Acts 10:43)
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all. (1 Thessalonians 3:16)
Peace and Christ are synonymous, for without the presence of the Prince of peace; peace is nothing more than an elusive intangible concept. Tied to any other thing but Christ, and peace is a temporal vapor.
Through forgiveness, and the grace of Christ, peace moves from hypothesis to abiding reality. Through the power and ongoing operation of Holy Spirit, peace embeds deep within the heart of each recipient of God’s mercy, and remains guarded there by heaven’s host.
Peace, the absence of torment, the absence of darkness, oppression, and hopelessness, this is the peace of Christ.
Thank you Lord Jesus, for with you my heart rests in genuine peace. Your lasting peace, which the world cannot give. Your peace, which is the fruit of your spirit, coming from your gift of grace, through your mercy and forgiveness. Amen.
“and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.”
