“May Your kingdom come. May Your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, he responded with a prayer. The first thing he prayed was to acknowledge God as our Father in heaven, whose name is holy. The Father is to be honored first and foremost. His next topic revealed God’s kingdom and will as life’s highest priority and purpose for us on this earth.
God created humanity, but man foolishly strayed into the dragon’s lair. When he did God provided the way out, the provision of Christ. Now with the powerful facilitation of the the Holy Spirit we become part of the flawless unfolding plan of God the Father for his Kingdom.
He paid our impossible and incalculable debt of sin. He gives us abundant life and invites us to honor him with the privilege of serving his glorious unfailing plan for the earth.
For the believer in Christ, loving God and doing his will is life’s highest call and greatest honor.
You have given me life. You have filled my heart with joy and purpose. Continue to show me the way of your Kingdom that I might daily pray with wisdom and insight. Reveal to me the details of your unfolding will in this hour as well as those that follow. To your name be glory. Amen.
“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
