Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty – the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come. (Rev 4:8)
You are worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honor and power. For You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created. (Rev 4:11)
Once while hiking steep terrain with friends on the southern coast of Australia, we began to question whether the view atop the mountain would merit the climb. The summit though did not disappoint. The view was breathtaking and overlooked the ocean, huge beautiful waves, and a rich golden beach. The view was so striking our first few moments contained only silence.
There is no more excellent way to begin a day, than to acknowledge and honor the Holy One. He was here before us, made us for his purposes, and will remain once we depart. His goal in creating all things, was for his good pleasure. For everything to revolve around him and his desires, not around us and what we desire. He is the highest, the purest, and the noblest. His character is flawless, his actions justified. He indeed, is the only one worthy of our worship.
To grasp but a portion of all he is, has done, and will do, is impossible. The grateful humble heart is left speechless and in awe of this Ancient of Days.
Lord though there are many things I could pray today, but I choose to be still in honor and worship of you. For you alone are God, you are holy and worthy of all glory!
For Yours is the kingdom and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.
