The Lord merely spoke and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and the stars were born. He gave the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let everyone in the world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him. For when he spoke the world began. (Psalm 33:6-9)
These are difficult verses for those who conclude the earth is the result of random or natural development. Those who believe in God as the Creator are often dismissed as naïve and fearful of rational humanistic and scientific views for the existence of all things inanimate and animate.
However, if we believe only in what we can understand, or choose to understand, then we are destined to live a limited and less fulfilled life on this earth. The one who has created all things cannot be fully understood or comprehended, only appreciated and adored.
Faith is not evidence of limited capacity, naivete, intolerance, or denial. Faith is the key to peace, unlimited potentials, and horizons beyond the limits of human exploration.
Lord, when I dwell on things created and the path to their existence, I discover quickly the finite manner of my humanness. I am in awe of your greatness and grateful for those things created, including my part in your vast plan. Thank you for allowing me a place in your immense design and may I be used to honor you with my role as you lead me. Amen.
“Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.”
