The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come. (Luke 4:18)
With the forty day desert experience behind him, Jesus was next found in a synagogue in Nazareth reading from Isaiah. When he finished he handed the scroll to the attendant and sat down. With all eyes in the room on him, he said, “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”(Luke 4:20)
The ultimate provision for anyone is the enablement to experience genuine life as God intended for it to be lived. Without argument his plan for us is the best, all others pale. With his death and resurrection yet ahead of him, because he knew the flawless unfailing plans of his Father God, Jesus could confidently announce the unalterable path to freedom and life had arrived.
Through your redeeming grace is the unfailing path to freedom, abundant and eternal life, the ultimate provision to which I gratefully, thankfully, praise you. Amen.
