Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen. (Romans 11:33-36)
We are limited and lack the ability to accomplish anything of lasting Kingdom value on our own. Instead of these thoughts producing disappointment, they should encourage a spirit of gratefulness, excitement, and peace knowing God’s wonderful adventure is sourced by his unlimited riches and wisdom.
Not only do we not know all of the Lord’s thoughts, but were there a way to track them, the counting and recording process would be endless. This is the glorious wonderful God we are honored to worship.
The apostle Paul concluded his thought presenting God’s undisputed sovereignty. Nothing exists apart from him, he is in and over all. Everything which has existed, presently exists, and will exist, is because of him and for him.
You Lord God are my hope and my salvation. I rest in you this morning as I dwell on the words of this passage. I have nothing without you and can do nothing without you that is life giving. You have shown me mercy, You have shown me the way to life and I submit myself to your will and unlimited ability to fulfill all you have before me for your glory. Amen.
“Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored.”
