In honor of the gift of grace

The Word

How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:12-14)

The Christian is a recipient of God’s great grace and cannot earn a more favorable position with him. He has liberated them, guides them by his Holy Spirit, and continually forms them into the image of God’s only Son. Such is the way of grace.

While God looks at the redeemed through the power of Christ’s work, we are still flesh with weaknesses and flaws living in a fallen world. Though covered in his robe of righteousness still we come before him and pray the words of this great song. Cleanse us from the things hidden, let us follow your way and do not let us fall into any snare set for us by our enemy. May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart bring pleasure to God and honor him and his wonderful gift of grace.

Lord Jesus you are my strong, my solid rock, you are my redeemer for you alone were able to pay the price for my sin. Keep me from anything which would cause you dishonor and lead me in your strong and righteous paths. Amen.

“and forgive us our sins,  as we have forgiven those who sin against us. “
