You are my God, and I will praise you! You are my God, and I will exalt you! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (Psalm 118:28, 29)
God has made each of us to experience multiple emotions. There are days we seem to have none, but from love, trust, and devotion to him, keep marching forward. Placing, by faith, one foot in front of the other toward the destination God leads simply because he is to be obeyed.
Then there are other days when our emotional experience feels overwhelmingly full and positively charged. The feeling reflected in Psalm 73:25, “Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.” There is an awareness, sense and yearning nothing else can define or provide comfort, contentment, or satisfy the heart other than his presence. The incredible beauty and wonder of the earth pales and yields to the hunger for his presence.
All else leaves me wanting, my Lord and my King. You have captured my heart and exposed its desires for any earthly things as vanity besides knowing life with you. Wealth, and fame do not satisfy the soul. Only you and the hope of being in your presence bring peace. You are the pinnacle of the human experience, you alone. You are my God and I praise and exalt you! Amen.
“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
